So the head unit has to be preconfigured for the display specs, so the head unit can then pass along those specs to your phone, so when you plug your phone in, your head unit says essentially "Hello Mr. ![]() As I'm sure you're aware, lots of cars have lots of different displays and, some have no display and you have to get one added aftermarket. The head unit has to be preconfigured either by the OEM or by the aftermarket company to run with the proper settings to work with the display you have.
